Anime Expo is happy to announce that Uki Satake and Masahiko Minami will be attending this year’s convention! A budding voice actress and an industry veteran, both join the growing list of this year’s Guests of Honor. Continue reading below to learn more about our latest guests.
A Tokyo native and lover of anime, manga, and idols, Uki Satake is one of the five members of the performance group “9nine.” Along with her music career, Satake has also been pursuing voice acting. So far, she has voiced characters in “Soredemo Sekai wa Utsukushii,” “HUNTER X HUNTER,” and “Chihayafuru.” Her most recent role was the voice of QT in “Space Dandy.”
As a member of “9nine” and on her own, she hosts radio and web broadcasts and appears in variety TV shows and dramas. She will be performing live with “9nine” at Nippon Budokan this coming August.
Masahiko Minami is both the President of and a Producer for BONES INC. After graduating from Osaka University of the Arts’ Theater Arts Department, he joined the anime production company Nihon Sunrise, which is now SUNRISE INC. While there he produced several shows, including “Whirl Wing! Iron Leaguer,” “Mobile Fighter G Gundam,” “Escaflowne,” and “Cowboy Bebop.”
In 1998, he decided to leave SUNRISE to start BONES INC. with animators Hiroshi Osaka and Toshihiro Kawamoto. Under Bones, he has produced “Cowboy Bebop: Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door,” “RahXephon,” “Fullmetal Alchemist,” “Eureka Seven AO,” “Blast Tempest,” “Space Dandy,” and many more!
