At yesterday’s thrilling Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, the Los Angeles Convention Center officially declared July 3rd “Anime Expo Day”! An LACC official was onsite prior to the Exhibit Hall opening to present the Proclamation to our CEO, Marc Perez, recognizing Anime Expo and the organization’s special relationship with the city and the Convention Center, which dates back to AX’s inauguration in 1992.

The LA City Mayor, Eric Garcetti, believes that LA, as the “creative capital of the world” is the best place for the Expo, and he is happy to have AX here.

The LA Convention Center also announced on June 23 that AX will remain in Los Angeles for the next five years. With our 25th anniversary coming up, this Proclamation is a wonderful way to remember past years and look confidently toward the future.
