No ticket needed. This is the 'Masquerade Ball'.
The Masquerade is the costume competition and it requires a ticket.

It's a semi-casual so no coming in with jeans, t-shirts or flip flops. you can come in costume but it's better if it matches the theme.

What you had on there would be fine and damn you do look fine girl.

hahah thats actually from a catalogue hun! xp not me Oh and are masks mandatory? Like you have to HAVE to wear them?

I'm guessing AX doesn't offer any lessons since the ball is on the first night. Hum, well I'd still be happy to go take some lessons with others in Sacramento- but would anyone be interested in maybe meeting the first day of con, or the day before during pre-reg hours, to have some basic lessons? I wouldn't mind going over basic steps with people, though I'd prefer to do it the evening before the first day of con, as I'll be in AA once con starts.

Oh it's always pretty fun. But when you're with the right partner who can really lead (or follow) it feels like your floating. ^^ 'd dance all night for that special moment when everything clicks. Plus, for guys, they can aska cute girl to dance and you get to hold her tight, and she can't get away for at east a few minutes. :D

Cool^^ I'll force my friend to come with me, lol jk.
I'll probably end up going by myself anyways.

I probably would go to watch this...I don't know how to dance, I'm bad at it, I'm too timid to ask for a partner to dance with me and currently, I don't got a suit

There's a lesson on ballroom dancing an hour before the dance starts.

Haha I don't know how to dance either or have even been to one (only the rave kind XD). But that's what the lessons are for^^
Wait a suit? How does everyone dress to this?

Last year, I wore my normal street outfit of slacks and a polo shirt. Worked great! Once you are dancing, nobody pays attention to anyone else. It's just fun!

No problem! I 'll teach you if you like. but more importantly, think of it this way- the girl is there to make you look good! If she's good- YOU look good. If she's bad- people feel sorry for you. XD and I bet theres a lot of people just like that.

Sadly I don't know much of the club ballroom dancing, although I believe I tend to be alright at traditional ballroom. *nods*

If I'm not on shift, I'll definitely be at the Masquerade Ball. :D

I may just have to practice up a bit to refresh my memory. I haven't been dancing in a while, but I used to take lessons and got pretty good.

I don't know how easily I will be able to make the costume I'll be wearing at the time very dressy though. But I do have the mask part down. XD

Gosh, this reminds me, I'll need to procure a mask of some sort.

So this isn't really formal, but you do need a mask? Interesting. Well anyway, does anyone know what type of music they usually play at this event? From what I gather it's kind of like rave music with an occasional social dance song thrown in...is that correct?
