So, everyone that was alive in the '90s SHOULD remember the epic awesomeness that is the Pokemon Trading Card Game

I just wanna know if anyone's interested.
I have a coupla decks and any battles will be purely recreational.

I'd love to play, if I have time. Wish AX would host a tournament or something...

There's usually a group that puts on a few tournaments, haven't heard anything out of them yet. We'll see when the gaming dept gets together.

I used to play and started to play casually lately.

i had my pokemon tcg spazzes so i still have my cards. on impulse i bought the deck with shaymin and i played a couple of times XD im soo down for some random pokemon tcg throwdowns lol

I saw a mention or two in the video game threads, but not a dedicated thread. Apparently, they had open tables for Pokemon in 2005, but not a tournament.

Since this would probably be an informal meet-up, I don't think it's necessary to be Professor (I'm one, by the way), let alone an official Tournament Organizer. There just needs to be someone who has a good handle on rulings.

I wonder how many LA players do attend AX though...

I'll have my deck (I work tabletop gaming). Its all older cards (I think the oldest is...Gym Leader. Its 9/10 Fossil and Base Set 1 though).

can i bring my extensive collection of cards for people to make a deck out of?
i have enough pokemon, trainers, and energies to provide a small group of people!

OK, well, after the HGSS Unleashed prerelease today I'm now horribly back into Pokemon, lol. I'll have at least 1, hopefully 2 decks by the time AX comes around to gunsling with. So the question is....


How many people would be interested in a tournament if we try to run one? Of course this would be modified rules (only the last 9 or 10 sets are legal, right now it's anything back through Diamond & Pearl currently). Anyone?

What i always thought would be really cool is if someone ran a Psuedo-League for AX weekend.

Id totally go to that esp. since table top is 24hrs right?

Im down for either unlimited or modified format play and i know a few more that would be interested too.

That's an idea, Azmodius. I do have connections where I might be able to procure some league stuffs.

Right now I'm working on setting up a Pokemon Tournament, modified swiss, that will most likely run sunday. Once all the details are final I'll post an announcement. But yeah, I may have sign ups for a league early on, then just like league you mark down how many times you play and if you get to a certain point you get some promos or something. Let me mull it over.

But yeah, if nothing else, I should be Gunslinging Pokemon modified for anyone interested.
