Expedition to Castle Ravenloft Dungeons & Dragons RPG

Ravenloft is for a party of 6th-9th level characters of any setting. I would likely bring some pre-made characters and allow people to sign up for the event before the convention, to e-mail me characters for approval (if they wanted to build their own).
Please let me know as soon as possible if you would be interested in this game. If I don't hear back from enough people, I won't bother with the event and I will focus my attention elsewhere.

Have you played any tabletop RPGs before?

At least you have a basic idea of how the system works, though. You know the ability scores-Strength, Dexterity, Constitution, Intelligence, Wisdom and Charisma, and roughly what each one does, right? You have a basic understanding of what the different character classes are capable of, right? You know which end of the sword goes in the bad guy, right? I think you're as primed and ready as you need to be to learn the tabletop version.

I catch the reference, though I don't actively read VG Cats.

I'd seriously need to see at least 8-12 people show up and say hi! by the end of May to give this one a green light.

I understand that the boards represent a very small amount of people going to Tabletop Gaming. Nonetheless... anyway.
Wayne, if you will commit to playing, then I will surely run the adventure. Otherwise, I am leaning in favor of running Deep Sekh during that time instead.
Ravenloft requires a fair amount of preparation. If you commit Wayne, I'm sure you could pull a number of players, and I would RUN the adventure if you commit to playing.

Okay, that in mind, what day/time works the best? Friday or Sunday (night, I'm thinking)?

What level do you want most people to start at? Probably go as the sorcerer I made and played for awhile or my scout (since I know the rules and how to play each pretty well). Is it a problem if we have our characters on our laptops? If I do show, I'll bring a power bar just in case others want to do the same.
And for the casters, if the material component's price isn't listed (ie worth a copper or less), do we need to keep track of it?

Ravenloft'd be level 6. If we have fewer than 6 players, I'll throw in some buffs or scale the adventure down a bit, but I don't think it should be a problem.
If you can, print the character sheet out, you can still use your laptop. If you need it, I'll bring blank character sheets, you can throw down the basics (stats, saves, AC, primary/secondary attack routines, skills, etc.; Mostly just the stuff on the front). I prefer the uniformity of a printed character sheet.
Insofar as material components for spells, since 6th level allows for spells up to 3rd level, the only components I really care about are the ones that cost 25 gp or more. Bless water and up, pretty much. Make sure to factor in the cost for the component pouch and the weight if you've got a low Strength though.

I just need to know the exact time.. so I can allocate time. I prolly cant stay past 3 hours or so.. and days would depend on how busy i am.. but if you run them at night - I may make stay til... oh... morning.. LOL
I claim barb or ranger... (second line fighter)
or if no one is playing cleric - I wil do cleric/ranger (secondary fighter/ healer)
Just asking JIC i want to play ( hexblade, eldricht knight)
What are the requirements for character gen? 4d6 drop low? or point buy? Any supplements OK? or just splatbooks? standard starting gold? all DMG items ok?
AIm or emial me if you need any help or have questions...

I would recommend that everyone who wants to participate in this game discuss their characters and the party in this thread. I will cap the game at 6-8 players (with alternates), though I know people may or may not necessarily be able to attend the game, depending on the hour and what other events are available.
Right now I am looking at running the game in the late hours on Friday night (part 1) and Sunday night (part 2). Each session will run 3-6 hours, depending on how long the majority of the players can stay.

Traditionally, the stat-rolling method I use is 3d6 (lowest number becomes 6), which generates numbers between 8-18, the average number being about 14 (makes pretty buff characters). If you like rolling for stats, though, you'll need to build the character using the elite array (15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8) and roll for stats at the convention.
If you don't like waiting, you can build your character with 32-point buy and leave it at that. Max ability score is 18 before racial mods.
