Cosplay Judge

Kelton Ching (KeltonFX) is a professional Special Effects Makeup Artist and award-winning costumer. His work has been featured in music videos by Rob Zombie, CharliXCX and online content from Rocket Jump, IGN Entertainment and SMOSH. Most recently, he served as the lead Special Effects Makeup artist on the horror film The Cleaning Lady (2018) by Jon Knautz.

Kelton Ching (KeltonFX) is a professional Special Effects Makeup Artist and award-winning costumer. Born in North Carolina and raised in Singapore, he moved to Los Angeles in 2014 to pursue a career in makeup. He has a background in Fine Arts and graduated from Lasalle College of the Arts in Singapore and is self-taught in sewing, pattern making, and fabrication. With over 13 years of experience in making costumes, he developed an interest in makeup after getting into cosplay. He now works on short films, music videos and online content and his clients include IGN Entertainment, Blizzard Entertainment (Overwatch, Heroes of the Storm), SMOSH, Frogwares Studio (The Sinking City) to name a few. Most recently, he served as the lead Special Effects Makeup artist on the horror film The Cleaning Lady (2018) by Jon Knautz.

 

He has also won several awards for his costuming work C ‘Judges Choice’ award at the 2014 Anime Expo Masquerade with his Dracula costume from Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2, 4th Place at the annual Blizzcon Costume Contest with his ‘King of Blades’ costume C a male version of Kerrigan from Starcraft II. In 2018, he was the Overall Champion of the Blizzcon Costume Contest with his original design, ‘The Creator’, a male version of Symmetra from Overwatch. The costume took 13 months to create from research, to design and fabrication and was heavily inspired by Hindu Mythology and Classical Indian Dance. His work can also be seen in music videos by Rob Zombie, CharliXCX and online content from Rocket Jump, IGN Entertainment and SMOSH.

 

Besides working on films and shorts, Kelton also takes bookings and commissions for private clients and has an Etsy store where he sells props, masks and prints of his work.
