Main Events Guidelines

Each Anime Expo® event in Los Angeles Convention Center West Hall A has its own rules when it comes to appropriate behavior. Please abide by those rules as they are stated. Conditions apply to all parties attending events in Hall A, including Anime Expo® Staff. Any penalties incurred in Hall A will count towards the convention’s two-strike policy.

Photography & Recording

Anime Expo® Concerts & Anime Music Video (AMV) Contest

Photography and recording of any kind are strictly prohibited with the exception of Anime Expo® Archive Staff. By attending, you agree not to bring any photography or recording devices into Hall A. A bag check is available in the West Hall Lobby in the Convention Center to store cameras and other electronic devices for the duration of these events.

Any attendee(s), non-authorized press, or staff members discovered with functioning equipment will be subjected to immediate deletion of all media stored in the device and one strike on the badge. A second offense will result in media deletion and, at the discretion of Anime Expo® Staff, ejection from the Hall and badge revocation for the remainder of the convention.

AX Idol and Masquerade

For issues of safety for our contestants, please refrain from using flash photography. Photos and videos must be for personal use only, with the exception of Anime Expo® Archive Staff and pre-approved Press members.

Miscellaneous

Due to the high volume of people who will be attending the Main Events at Hall A, those with excess baggage, oversized costumes and/or props, or anything resembling a weapon will not be admitted into the venue (with the exception of Masquerade contestants on Saturday, July 4). Attendees are highly encouraged to utilize the bag check located in the West Hall lobby in the Convention Center prior to arriving at the venue.

All attendees, press, and staff members attending events in Hall A must have valid tickets to a seat. Those found loitering in aisles or hallways will be asked to leave the venue.

Skanking, moshing or standing on chairs will not be permitted in Hall A. Those caught doing so will face immediate ejection from the venue and receive one strike on the badge or badge revocation for the remainder of the convention if this is a second strike.

Smoking is not permitted in Hall A.

There is no re-entry allowed in Hall A.

All attendees are subject to the Anime Expo® Code of Conduct.
