The first 20 minutes of the live action “Blood: The Last Vampire” will be screened at Anime Expo® 2009. The movie goes into limited release in select theaters on July 10th.

Based upon the popular anime film by Production I.G, “Blood: The Last Vampire” tells the story of Saya, a “halfling” born to a human father and a vampire mother, who uses her powers to rid the world of vampires. Sent to an American military base in Tokyo by the clandestine organization for whom she works, Saya finds herself in a series of spectacular and elaborate showdowns, all leading to a final confrontation with the evil patriarch of all vampires: Onigen.

“Blood: The Last Vampire” is brought to live action by director Chris Nahon (KISS OF THE DRAGON) and producers Bill Kong (CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON; HERO) and Abel Nahmias (11 COMMANDMENTS, LA BEUZE) and stars Gianna (MY SASSY GIRL), Allison Miller (17 AGAIN), Liam Cunningham (A LOVE DIVIDED, THE WIND THAT SHAKES THE BARLEY), JJ FEILD (RING AROUND THE MOON), Koyuki (THE LAST SAMURAI) and Yasuaki Kurata (SHINJUKU INCIDENT).

The sneak peek will held on Friday evening, July 3, 2009 at 7:00 PM in Video Room 2 (LACC 408AB), and free movie posters will be given away to 100 lucky attendees.
