General Rules and Setup

The tournament will use ASUS VH236 Monitors on a VGA connection. For viewing purposes, the signal will be split to a larger television so that the audience may watch.

  • A change from last year is that bringing your own controller or joystick is allowed, as long as it is wired. All controllers must be plugged in by a staff members. We have joysticks available for renting. When signing up on-site, please write down which joystick you want to borrow. It will be ready for you when the tournament begins. Bringing your own controller is highly recommended because we are not responsible for any controller malfunctions.
  • Signups for each tournament begin when the console room opens that day.
  • Mapping multiple buttons to one button is only allowed if you use a pad. Mapping more than one instance of a button is NOT allowed.
  • No trash talk during or after the match will be allowed. Contestants will be given 1 warning before being disqualified from the tournament.
  • When signing up, all entrants will be split into groups of 16 or 32. Each group of 16 will play out until a winner emerges. All 4 winners will then meet in a finals match. The exception is Halo, where teams will be in groups of 4.
  • All controls MUST be set before the match begins. Staff will remind the players to set the controls before the match starts (if they forget, you get a free pass). A pause in the match will automatically disqualify the player for that round. If there are no rounds, it will be considered an automatic loss of the game.
  • If you beat a staff member, you get a prize!
