Premier Fan

  • All discounts, priority line and priority seating privileges are eligible for those registered with a Premier Fan badges. Privileges will not apply to regular or child passes even if purchased by the premier fan badge holder.
  • NEW – Exclusive lounge area where Premier Fans can take a break in comfy chairs, charge their phones, check bags, and get complimentary soda and/or water. This lounge will also be where Premier Fans can pick up their swag bags, lanyards, and mini-poster.
  • NEW – Celebrity guests and Guests of Honor will make some brief, random appearances in the Premier Fan Lounge for meet and greet opportunities.

The Artist Alley at Anime Expo is a venue for amateur and semi-professional artists to celebrate Japanese pop culture through fantastic works of art. Artists come from all over the country and beyond to share their original artwork, prints, crafts, clothing, comics and ‘zines. Don’t miss the chance to meet and support these amazing artists!

How to Sign Up for the Artist Alley

  • Artist Alley table sales generally go live at the convention and later on-line. Currently, tables are sold out.
  • In addition to the purchasing a table, each artist selling their work must submit a Seller’s Permit. This permit is available on-line via the Board of Equalization (BOE).
  • All artists must read and comply with all instructions, rules, and policies stated in the Artist Alley Contract.
  • Seller’s Permit & Artist Alley Contract should be submitted when filling out on-line application form set to release at a later date in 2015. Those who have purchased a ticket will be notified via email.

General Table Information

  • Tables are 6’ x 2’ and 2.5’ high.
  • Artists may purchase up to two tables. Half tables are not sold
  • Artists’ table assignments depends on a first come first served basis of purchase.  Artists who have paid for their tables will be sent an e-mail notification prior to the release of the application form.
  • Though we do our best to fulfill special requests, we are sometimes unable to fulfill a request to be placed next to another artist’s space.
  • Any further questions about the Artist Alley can be asked on the Artists’ Forum or by email.

Anime Expo® will not be held responsible for claims, promises and/or contracts made by any 3rd party individuals/companies that are not verified in writing by Anime Expo® to be an authentic representing individual/company for the convention.

Anime Expo® welcomes both industry and professional members who are involved in the anime, manga, and/or entertainment industry. Industry members may be employed with a major industry company or independent contractors or professionals. The requirements for registration are now posted below and you may apply for industry registration through our online form. Please allow at least 10 business days for your application to be processed.


Requirements

Industry

In order to be considered for “Industry” registration and receive complimentary entrance to this year’s convention, individuals will need to fulfill the following requirements:

  1. Individuals MUST be part of the creative process (i.e. Artist, Musician, Voice Actor, etc) and/or be an executive (CEO/CFO/COO, Director, Lawyer, ect) working in the fields of anime, manga and/or Japanese culture (Japanese: Fashion, Video Games, Movies & Music).
  2. Be in active employment or have worked in the last 6 months with a major industry company that is recognized as a production, licensing, post-production or marketing organization.
  3. Present a business card with stated company name, individual name and contact information and matching recent company pay-stub. (We apologize, however we cannot accept business cards without printed contact names due to illegal replications.)
  4. Present a Valid picture ID upon pass pickup. (US Driver’s license, Passport or Credit card with photo)
  5. Must be a minimum of 18 years of age by/on July 3, 2014.

Notes:

  • Each company will receive maximum of 10 (10) complementary passes only. Additional passes can be purchased at the event or in advanced, for a discounted rate of $55 for a 4-Day Pass.
  • Unfortunately, due to the large volume of Retail (i.e. Salesperson, store manager, etc.) and Office Administration & Support positions (i.e. Assistant, accounting, data entry, IT, etc.), these positions do not qualify for a complementary industry pass; however they may register as a Professional badge. *See Professional registration below for more details*
  • All passes are subject to the convention review process.
  • Individuals who wish to apply for “Industry” admission should complete the Online Industry Pre-Registration Form and bring the required documents listed above to the convention.

Professional

In order to be considered for “Professional” registration and receive discounted entrance to this year’s convention, individuals will need to fulfill the following requirements:

  1. Individuals MUST be involved in the fields of anime, manga and/or Japanese culture (Japanese: Fashion, Video Games, Movies & Music) and be involved in Retail positions (i.e. Salesperson, store manager, etc.), office administration/support (i.e. Assistant, accounting, data entry, IT, etc.) or another non-creative positions for a major industry company.
  2. Be in active employment or have worked in the last 6 months with a major industry company that is recognized as a production, licensing, post-production or marketing organization.
  3. Present a business card with stated company name, individual name and contact information and matching recent company pay-stub. (We apologize, however we cannot accept business cards without printed contact names due to illegal replications.)
  4. Present a Valid picture ID upon pass pickup. (Driver’s license, passport or credit card with photo)
  5. Individuals will be REQUIRED to pay $55 for each professional badge requested.

Notes:

  • Those that submit for “Professional” registration will receive a confirmation of receipt of application via e-mail and will then receive an “Approved Professional” e-mail to be placed on the “Professional” admission list.
  • Those that have received an “Approved Professional” email prior to the convention will be able to obtain their Industry Professional Badges and packets at the registration location.

REMINDERS

  • Individuals that choose to register on-site will be required to provide a valid business card, current paycheck & picture ID. Individuals may register during the convention as “Professional” in the South Hall Lobby at the Los Angeles Convention Center at the Industry/Professional registration booth.
  • To be considered for pre-registration, you must submit your online application by June 16th, 2014.
  • Unfortunately, due to the large volume of requests all guest pass requests are being denied due to the high volume of industry & professional attendees. Please register your guests through the general public registration online or on-site in the South Hall Lobby.
  • The SPJA & Anime Expo reserves the right to revoke or deny access regardless of prior approval.

Society for Promotion of Japanese Animation (“SPJA”) welcomes all members of the media who are involved in the anime, manga, and/or entertainment industry. Press members may be employed with a major media company or independent contractors or professionals.

Online Press Registration will open spring 2015.

Please note, that there will not be any onsite press registration at AX 2015.

After submitting an application online, please allow at least 10-14 business days for your application to be processed. You must submit your online application by June 16, 2014. Once you have submitted an application for “Press” registration will receive a confirmation of receipt of application via e-mail. If approved, you will then receive an “Approved Press” e-mail, confirming that you have been placed on the “Press” admission list. Please note that once you have obtained approval for “Press” admission, you will still be required to provide your official business card and valid ID when collecting your badge.


Requirements

In order to be considered “Press” and to receive complimentary entrance to this year’s convention, individuals will need to fulfill the following requirements:

  1. A1. Active employment with a major media company that is recognized as a print publication (i.e. magazine, newspapers, etc.), radio, television/cable/affiliate station/program, newscast and/or online magazine.
    • Applications with official company e-mails are preferred.
    • Writers/Reporters from high school and university level publications are encouraged to apply as well. However, in these cases we kindly request that you provide us with a letter of intent signed by you and your editor-in-chief/advisor on official school letterhead. Please also note that we will not be able to provide Press Badges for them. Chaperones are welcome to enjoy the convention by registering through the registration process for the general public. Please register any chaperones through the general public registration located in the South Hall Lobby.
    • Photographers, cosplay-related media outlets or outlets with a history of posting exclusively cosplay-related content must present a detailed proposal on the coverage they plan to do at Anime Expo. Taking photos of the cosplayers who attend the convention can be done quite readily without the need of a Press Badge; therefore we reserve the right to deny applications of that nature.
  2. Business card with stated company name, individual name and contact information, or a recent company pay-stub.
    • We apologize for the inconvenience but we cannot accept business cards without printed contact names due to the possibility of illegal replications.
  3. 3. Valid picture identification that confirms you will be a minimum of 18 years of age on the date of the Event.

Those who have submitted an application for “Press” registration will receive a confirmation of receipt of application via e-mail and if approved, will then received an “Approved Press” e-mail in addition to being placed on the “Press” admission list. Please note that those who have obtained approval for “Press” admission will still be required to provide their official business card and valid ID.

Individuals who choose to register at the convention will also be required to provide the items mentioned in points 2 and 3 above. Due to the fact that we will not have all of our resources available at the convention, please be aware that information that cannot be verified on the spot may result in the denial of the Press Badge.

Reminders:

  • Please bring a valid form of picture identification i.e. driver’s license and your business card. If you don’t have a business card, please bring a recent paycheck stub.
  • You must submit your online application by June 16, 2014.
  • Our apologies, but all requests for non-press guest passes will be denied due to the high number of press attendees. Please register your guests through the general public registration online or onsite in the South Hall Lobby.
  • PLEASE NOTE: Names, outlets, and email addresses of confirmed Anime Expo 2015 press will be made available to exhibitors, programming participants, etc., prior to the convention (AX 2015 Press List).

*As always, the issuance of a Press Badge is at the sole discretion of SPJA. Prior press badge approval does not guarantee future approvals. Media must follow the Code of Conduct and the Recording Policy. SPJA does not tolerate any coverage that includes stunt-type events, ambush interviewing, or any sort of any action that could make any of our attendees or guests feel unsafe or uncomfortable.
