Ryukishi 07 is a scenario writer and the leader of the doujin circle, 07th Expansion.

The titles he’s created have been adapted into a wide array of formats including movies, anime, novels, and more, though he’s most famously known for his work on the visual novels  “Umineko When They Cry”, and “Higurashi When They Cry”, which celebrated its 20th anniversary last year.

Last year it was also announced that he’ll be in charge of the scenario for Konami’s upcoming game, “Silent Hill f”, and this year will see the release of LOOPERS+, a definitive version of the visual novel, LOOPERS, which was released by Visual Arts three years ago.

While many of his titles seem focused on horror at first glance, they’ve earned great enthusiasm from many young people thanks to their deeper themes of love, friendship, and more.
