More information about Akira Himekawa’s appearance at Anime Expo is now available!

Best known for their work on the Legend of Zelda manga series, manga artist and illustrator duo, Akira Himekawa, is comprised of A. Honda and S. Nagano.

Akira Himekawa were announced as our first AX 2017 Guest of Honor at the AX 2016 Closing Ceremony.

They will both participate in a panel, as well as autograph sessions throughout Anime Expo 2017. Anime Expo 2017 will be their first U.S. anime convention appearance.

About Akira Himekawa

After starting their first comic in 1987, they released various comic at Comiket. They made their publishing debut with Honoo wa Kaze no Na no Gotoku in Shonen Big Comic Zokan. They have created a number of manga works and illustrations including the manga adaptation of the series The Legend of Zelda.

From 1998 to 2008, the duo drew and authored ten volumes, covering the stories of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Majora’s Mask, Oracle of Seasons, Oracle of Ages, Four Swords, The Minish Cap, A Link to the Past, and Phantom Hourglass. In 2011, they created a prologue manga for The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.

In 2010, the duo won the Sheikh Zayed Award in children’s literature for their Arabic manga GoldRing and the Sondermann Reading Award for Best Manga in the International Manga category for The Legend of Zelda. In 2016, Zelda manga series returned with the release of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Vol.1.
