Born 1966, Niigata Prefecture.

Affiliated with khara studio. Debuted as an animator at Studio GIANTS before moving to GAINAX. Worked on the TV series “Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water” as an animator and made his directorial debut with the LD-BOX bonus footage “Gunbuster New Science Lessons” from the OVA “Gunbuster.”

Contributed to the TV series “Neon Genesis Evangelion” as an assistant director and was involved in the design and settings. He later directed the OVA “FLCL,” “Gunbuster 2,” and “Dragon Dentist.”
He served as the director for “Evangelion: New Theatrical Edition” series, including the 2021 release “Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time,” as well as working on the storyboards and design works.
