MIRUS is a K-pop dance cover team based in Orange County and Los Angeles. Our name comes from a Latin word from which the modern English word “miraculous” is derived. MIRUS is an adjective that means extraordinary—set apart as a hero, an icon, and a symbol of hope. That meaning reflects our purpose: to be a source of inspiration and pride for the communities we reach through performance.
At our core, MIRUS is just a group of friends who came together through a shared love of music and dance. What started as a fun creative outlet has grown into a team of driven, diverse performers who dedicate time and energy to building strong, intentional choreography that connects. We’re united by the belief that dance is more than steps—it’s a way to tell stories, express identity, and bring people together.
We are proud of our diversity, both in who we are and in what we create. Our team is made up of dancers from all backgrounds, and that mix of perspectives is one of our greatest strengths. Every person on our team brings something unique—whether it’s cultural experience, technical skill, creative input, or just raw enthusiasm. We draw strength from that diversity, and we see it as central to the work we put on stage.
While our focus is primarily on K-pop, what drives us is the joy and challenge of performing with precision and purpose. We put thought and structure into every piece—mapping out transitions, refining musicality, and working hard to create something that feels complete. Our approach to covers is about more than replication. We want each performance to feel like our own—shaped by our team dynamic, our intention, and the message we want to communicate.
As an AAPI-led team, representation matters to us. We prioritize diversity both on and off stage, and we use dance as a platform to celebrate culture, express identity, and uplift our community. Whether you’re part of the AAPI community or not, we hope that what we bring to the stage encourages others to take pride in their background and to carve out space for their voice.
Although MIRUS is built around dance, our mission goes beyond choreography. We hope to inspire anyone watching—whether they’re a dancer or not—to chase what they love, to stay true to themselves, and to understand that passion is a powerful starting point. That same energy still drives us today—and we hope it shows in every performance.
To us, dance is a language. And through it, we speak to the people around us. We aim to perform with clarity, energy, and meaning. Whether we’re on a large stage or a local showcase, the goal is the same: to create something that resonates.
