Some events at Anime Expo require an additional ticket to attend.

If you are planning to attend a Ticketed Event at Anime Expo, please be sure to read all relevant event policies regarding pick-up, will-call, and other procedures. Please be aware that policies may vary between events, especially when they take place in different venues.

Important Ticket Info

Badge vs. Ticket: What is the difference between a badge and a ticket?

  • Badge: The first thing you need to attend Anime Expo.
  • Ticket: Some events during Anime Expo may also require a ticket, in addition to a badge. These are called, “Ticketed Events.”
    • Ticketed Events include, but may not be limited to:
    • If you’re interested in attending these events, you can buy your tickets online ahead of time or you can purchase them onsite at the Ticketing Booth, based on availability.

What to Bring: Convention Center/JW Marriott Events

YOU WILL NEED TO PRESENT THE FOLLOWING UPON ENTRY:

  • Anime Expo Badge valid for the day of the event
  • Event ticket, which can be one of the following:
    • Showclix E-Ticket, attached to confirmation email
    • QR code via mobile device
    • Ticket purchased at Ticketing Booth
    • Wristband that is worn securely on the wrist (for 18+ events)

What to Bring: Microsoft Theater / The NOVO

YOU WILL NEED TO PRESENT THE FOLLOWING UPON ENTRY:

  • Anime Expo badge that is valid for the day of the event (Event policies may vary)
  • Event Ticket or Wristband (MUST be picked up at Will Call at the Ticketing Booth)

What to Bring: 18+/21+ Events

  • 18+ EVENTS require a wristband, which can be obtained at any Info Service booths, Event Operations (Room 508, West Hall upper floor), or at the Ticketing Booth.
  • 21+ EVENTS require a valid ID showing your date of birth upon entry.

FAQ

What are the Main Events?

Main Events are the most popular events that have the highest attendance at Anime Expo®. These include the AX Masquerade, the AX Anime Music Video Contest and various musical concerts. Main Events for 2018 are held in West Hall B of the Los Angeles Convention Center (LACC) as well as Microsoft Theater and The Novo by Microsoft.

Do you need a ticket to watch a Main Event?

Yes. In addition to a valid Anime Expo® attendee badge, registered attendees will need a ticket to attend all Main Events organized by Anime Expo®. Due to high attendee interest and limited space, all concerts, the AX Masquerade, and the AX Anime Music Video Contest require individual tickets for admission. Tickets are available for sale online through the Anime Expo® Ticketing website (http://www.anime-expo.org/explore/events/ticketed-events/) and are available for sale during the convention at the Ticketing Booth on the West Hall North Apron, located above the main stairwell off Chick Hearn Court, for cash, credit and debit card.

Who is eligible to obtain tickets?

Only registered Anime Expo® attendees with valid attendee badges for the day of the event, unless otherwise noted on the event page, are eligible to obtain tickets for the Main Events, Maid and Butler Café, and other ticketed events. When purchasing tickets for the first time, all attendees are required to create an account in the Anime Expo® Ticketing website.

Do I have to pay to get a ticket?

Yes. All attendees are required to purchase a ticket to attend our Main Events and other ticketed events, such as Maid Café and the Escape Game by SCRAP, unless it specifically states that it is a “free” event.

Where do I buy tickets?

Tickets can be purchased online through the Anime Expo® Ticketing website as events are announced. Tickets will also be available during the convention at both the Ticketing Booth (for cash, debit or major credit card) on the West Hall North Apron, located above the main stairs off of Chick Hearn Court, and in addition in the Premier Fan Lounge located in West Hall Rm. 502A. Please bring a government-issued photo ID if making a purchase using a credit or debit card.

Please note that unlawful resale (or attempt) of your tickets is illegal and will be grounds for seizure and cancellation without compensation. Any person caught buying or selling any Anime Expo® event tickets will face immediate ejection from the event and a restriction from future SPJA/AX events.

Are children required to purchase a ticket?

The rules and requirements for event tickets are the same as the rules and requirements for Registration.

Children age 6 and above are required to have their own ticket regardless of whether they can sit comfortably on your lap during the event. Children 5 and under, if they are able to sit comfortably on your lap, may enter for free.

PLEASE NOTE: Please remember to check the contents and the duration of each event and use discretion when purchasing a ticket for a child. Many of our events may not be appropriate for young children, and some events run for longer than 2 hours without breaks.

Is there assigned seating?

Each event will have a different seating policy as there are multiple venues and configurations. Seating can either be “General Admission” - first come, first served at the event itself, “By Section” - first come, first served within a designated section, or “Assigned Seating” - where seats are selected beforehand by using either the “best available” option, or the “pick your own seat” option when purchasing your tickets.

PLEASE NOTE: There may be seats that are reserved or are otherwise unavailable for a ticketed event, even if it has a “General Admission” configuration.

How do I arrange for Accessible Seating?

If you have any special needs and require Accessible Seating or a wheelchair location, please proceed to the Ticketing Booth on the West Hall North Apron, located above the main stairwell off of Chick Hearn Court, or the Ticketing Assistance Counter in the Gilbert-Lindsay Plaza outside of West Hall. Please remember to also obtain an ADA sticker from any Information Services Booth for you and your helper so we can identify and assist you better during the convention.

If you are purchasing a ticket online before the convention, please contact the Ticketing Department via email at (events@anime-expo.org) with your name, phone number and email address as well as the event(s) and the number of tickets you are interested in purchasing. Please let us know what your specific needs or concerns are and we will try to accommodate your request to the best of our ability based on availability.

Limited tickets are available for attendees who require Accessible Seating at all price tiers in our Main Event venue located in West Hall B of the Los Angeles Convention Center. Other venues may have limited or no availability in certain price tiers. Please contact the Ticketing Department for more information.

How many tickets can I buy?

Though each registered attendee can have only one (1) ticket per event associated with their attendee badge, the Anime Expo® Ticketing system allows you to purchase multiple tickets (up to a maximum of 4) for your group depending on the event with the exception of the AX Anime Music Video (AMV) Contest event.

The AX AMV Contest event tickets will only be available for distribution at the Ticketing Booth in the West Hall North Apron, limit 2 tickets per attendee, on the day of the event. Please check the Ticketing Booth for distribution times and details. Premier Fans will have the opportunity to reserve a ticket online for the AX AMV Contest event.

Do I really need to have individual names on every ticket?

Yes, individual names are required on every ticket as a security measure to ensure every ticket holder is an Anime Expo® attendee (because this is a private event) and to prevent tickets from being resold.

Individuals cannot assign multiple tickets to the same name for the same event. Multiple tickets to the same event can be purchased by a single person, but each ticket (for a single event) must be associated to a name of an attendee with a valid AX badge. All current orders with duplicate names will have 14 days from the date of purchase to submit name changes to (events@anime-expo.org). After this time, anyone found to have multiple tickets to the same event in his or her name will have all but one ticket canceled without further notice.

The deadline to submit a request for name changes to a ticket order is June 23, 2018 at 12:00 PM (PDT). All name change requests must be sent via email with your full name, order confirmation number and the email associated with your purchase.

Only the attendee whose name appears on the ticket may use that ticket to enter the venue. Government issued photo ID may be requested at the entrance to verify the ticket holder’s identity.

PLEASE NOTE: Any attempts to resell tickets onsite during Anime Expo at, but not limited to, the Los Angeles Convention Center, LA Live area, or any Anime Expo associated hotels is subject to prosecution under California Penal Code § 346.

SPJA reserves the right to change the Ticketing Policy at any time without notification. Anime Expo® reserves the right to refuse admission, to refuse service and/or to cancel your tickets at any time.

I bought my tickets online, where do I pick up my tickets?

Please confirm whether the tickets are actual E-tickets or Will Call tickets..

E-tickets
If the tickets are actual E-tickets, you will receive a confirmation email as well as your
E-ticket(s) in PDF format for each ticket purchased. You will need to print out and bring your E-ticket(s) with you, or present the barcode digitally on your smartphone or tablet on the day of the event so we can scan the ticket barcode during check-in.

Will Call
If the tickets are Will Call tickets, you will need to print out and bring a copy of the confirmation email to the Ticketing Booth, located on the West Hall North Apron, so we can scan the ticket barcode and issue your actual event tickets. These physical event tickets CANNOT be reprinted if lost or stolen.

Some events may have assigned seats marked on the tickets despite being listed as a “General Admission” and “By Section” event. The tickets for these events are usually issued on a first-come, first-served basis within your price tier.

If you did NOT receive a confirmation email and/or your E-ticket(s), please email the Ticketing Department at (events@anime-expo.org) for support.

What is a Will Call ticket, and how do I pick it up?

Will Call tickets are designated for select events when we need you to come to the Ticketing Booth because: 1) the ticket may be bundled with a giveaway item or package OR 2) the event requires us to confirm specific requirements, such as age for an age restricted event. All Will Call tickets MUST be redeemed at the Ticketing Booth, located on the West Hall North Apron, and exchanged for your ACTUAL event tickets. Will Call tickets are NOT valid for check-in at the event and you will be turned away at the door.

To pick up Will Call tickets, you will need to visit the Ticketing Booth on the West Hall North Apron, located above the main stairwell off of Chick Hearn Court, during scheduled hours of operation at least 60 minutes before the start of the event. For events held at the Microsoft Theater or Novo, the recommended time to pick up is at least 3 hours before the start of the event.

When picking up your ticket(s), you will need to present:

1) A copy of your Order Confirmation.
NOTE: If picking up multiple tickets for a single event, EACH TICKET HOLDER (attendee) must be present to pick up his or her ticket.
2) An Anime Expo attendee badge valid for the day of the event, for each attendee associated with each ticket, unless otherwise specified on the event page(s).
3) A valid government-issued photo ID, for each attendee associated with each ticket. Must show date of birth if ticket is for an age-restricted event for age verification.

Anyone who purchases multiple tickets and wants to pick up their entire order must have all ticket holders present to do so. Individual ticket holders can pick up their own ticket without the buyer present, given that the name on the ticket matches their ID.

The purchaser and/or ticket holder(s) is solely responsible for the tickets purchased. Lost or stolen tickets will not be replaced or refunded.

PLEASE NOTE: If you are found to be underage for an age-restricted event, you will be denied entry at the event and your ticket confiscated.

I have my event tickets, what do I do now?

Simply go to the designated venue with your event ticket and your valid Anime Expo® attendee badge ready to present at the door. Your ticket can either be: a physical event ticket previously exchanged at the Ticketing Booth in the West Hall North Apron, a printed copy of the E-ticket with a barcode, or an electronic version of the E-ticket on your smartphone or tablet with visible barcode. We will scan the barcode at the door to the event to "redeem" the ticket during check-in. Seating usually begins around 30-60 minutes before the start of the event unless stated otherwise on the ticket or event page.

Once your ticket is scanned onsite, the associated barcode will be marked as “redeemed” and any additional ticket versions (printed copies or via mobile device) will be invalid for redemption.

What do I do if I lose my ticket?

If you lose your E-ticket prior to the convention, please contact the Ticketing Department at (events@anime-expo.org) to request another confirmation email with E-ticket(s) attached.

Once you are on-site at the convention, any lost or stolen tickets will not be replaced or refunded.

I purchased a ticket that includes a bonus item. How do I get it?

If a Main Event has a bonus item attached to a ticket, attendees may pick up their bonus item at the Ticketing Booth. If purchased online, you will need to go to Will Call, then show your confirmation email, Anime Expo attendee badge and a Government-issued photo ID in order to receive the bonus items.

If purchased on-site at the convention, you will receive your bonus item with your ticket.

Bonus items for online purchases not picked up/redeemed by 3:00 pm on Day 4 of Anime Expo will be forfeited. Anime Expo is not responsible for any unclaimed bonus items.

How to Pick Up Your Ticket

  • Bring your confirmation email from Showclix (printout or via mobile device) and a valid photo ID showing your date of birth.
  • Go to the Ticketing Booth, located in West Hall of LACC.

    It is highly recommended to pick up your tickets at least 4 hours before the start of the event so that you will have enough time to note the list of restricted items, store belongings and purchases in either your car or bag check, or take care of any other personal business prior to check-in AS WELL AS to allow sufficient time to get in line and go through the security check at the doors to the venue.

  • AX Ticketing Volunteers will issue your ticket or wristband based on event purchased, as well as your bonus item(s) or a voucher to exchange for your bonus item(s).

How to Buy Tickets Onsite

  • Go to the Ticketing Booth, located in West Hall of LACC
  • When you get to the counter, tell the AX Ticketing Volunteers which event you’d like to purchase a ticket for.
  • AX Ticketing Volunteers will assist you with the purchasing process and issue you a ticket.

    We highly recommend purchasing tickets online, when possible. As long as the event is not a WILL CALL ticketed event, you will NOT need to visit the Ticketing Booth and stand in line, giving you more time to spend enjoying the convention!

Premier Fan FAQ

I’m a Premier Fan, what are my Event Ticket perks?

Anime Expo® 2018 Premier Fans will receive an email containing a promotion code for a $50 discount on one (1) event ticket per Premier Fan Badge to apply to an event of their choice, from a selected list of eligible events hosted by Anime Expo®. Premier Fans will be notified by email of this perk prior to event ticket sales.

Additionally, Premier Fans will have a 48-hour exclusive pre-sale period to selected events hosted by Anime Expo®. Please note that the pre-sale period does NOT guarantee availability. Not all events with an exclusive pre-sale period are eligible for the discounted ticket promotion code.

I'm a Premier Fan, where is my Event Ticket promotion code?

Registered Anime Expo® 2018 Premier Fans will receive an email notification with a promotion code for a $50 discount on one (1) event ticket per Premier Fan Badge, along with instructions on how to redeem the promotion code online.

If you are a Premier Fan and did not receive your promotion code, please email the Ticketing Department (events@anime-expo.org) or Premier Fan Customer Service (premierfan@anime-expo.org) and include the following information so we can assist you as quickly as possible:

1) Name of Premier Fan
2) Badge Confirmation Number
3) Email Address

What do I do with my Event Ticket promotion code?

Please follow the instructions included with the email you received containing your promotion. Please note that not all events or price tiers are eligible for the discounted ticket promotion code.

WHO CAN PICK UP A WILL-CALL TICKET

Please note that only the person whose name is listed on the will-call ticket will be allowed to pick up their event ticket.

ALL SALES ARE FINAL FOR TICKETED EVENTS. NO REFUNDS.

If the purchaser or ticket holder wishes to transfer ownership of the ticket to a different name, the following information must be provided and sent to events@anime-expo.org:

  • Purchaser’s name and email address
  • ShowClix Confirmation Order #
  • Name of Event
  • Current ticket holder’s name
  • New ticket holder’s name

The request to transfer ownership must be made no later than 24 hours prior to the date of the event.

All Anime Expo events are subject to the list of prohibited items in the Code of Conduct, as well as all other general AX policies. Be sure to check to see if the event you are attending as individual policies or prohibited items.

Please be aware that any events at the Microsoft Theater and The NOVO are subject to the venue's policies and restrictions. Please check their respective websites for more information about any specific items prohibited by these venues.

Certain events include a bonus item with the purchase of an event ticket. The bonus items will either be distributed upon ticket pick-up or through a voucher redemption booth.

  • Vouchers must be obtained at the Anime Expo Ticketing Booth.
  • Vouchers may be exchanged at the Voucher Exchange located in the Entertainment Hall in the West Hall Lobby
  • Lost or stolen vouchers can not be replaced or re-issued.
  • SPJA/Anime Expo is not responsible for any bonus items not picked up by the end of Anime Expo.

To request ADA seating or other assistance, please email events@anime-expo.org ahead of time or visit the Ticketing Booth onsite for help.

At the LACC: No ticket exchanges are allowed after you leave the Ticketing Booth. Please check that the tickets you receive are for the events you wish to attend before leaving the booth.

  • All ticket sales are final. No refunds, no exchanges, no transfers, and no cancellations will be made.
  • A valid Anime Expo® attendee badge is required to purchase tickets. Both the valid attendee badge and the ticket for the listed event are required to attend any of the Main Events or other ticketed events.
  • All attendees are subject to the Anime Expo® Code of Conduct (http://www.anime-expo.org/policies-faqs/). In addition, attendees are expected to adhere to the policies set forth by the LACC and for the individual Main Events. Also, for any events held at venues outside of the LACC (such as Microsoft Theater or the Novo), attendees must adhere to the policies set forth by that venue.
  • Unlawful resale (or attempt) of your tickets is grounds for seizure and cancellation without compensation. Any person caught buying or selling any Anime Expo® event tickets will face immediate ejection from the event and restriction from future SPJA/AX events.
  • All ticket holders may be asked to show a government issued photo identification to prove their name matches the one assigned to the ticket at the time of entry to the event venue. Anime Expo® reserves the right to refuse entry and void any ticket for which the holder of the ticket is not the person whose name appears on the ticket.

 

PLEASE NOTE: ALL MAIN EVENTS / TICKETED EVENTS LISTED ARE FOR REGISTERED ANIME EXPO® ATTENDEES ONLY UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED. YOU CANNOT ATTEND AN EVENT IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A VALID BADGE, EVEN IF YOU HAVE A TICKET.
