The AX Maid Cafe and AX Butler Cafe are now accepting applications for Anime Expo 2022! If you are interested, please review all of the requirements below and submit an application. Thank you!
Final deadline to apply is February 6, 2022. If you would like to participate as a dance volunteer, please be sure to submit your application prior to the audition on February 6, 2022.
It is encouraged to complete as much of your Shiftboard profile as possible to better your chances of being selected.
AX Volunteer Requirements:
- Must live in Southern California
- Must have reliable transportation to attend rehearsal and training sessions in Pasadena
- Must regularly check email address or Facebook
- Must be 18 years of age or older by February 6, 2022, to attend and participate in any rehearsals
- Must be in good health to be on your feet for up to 8 hours at a time
- Must be able to attend 70% of Sunday meeting/training dates located in Pasadena
- Must be friendly, work well with others, and enthusiastic
- Must be comfortable to converse with strangers
- Must have a government-issued ID in order to complete a background check
- Must provide proof of Covid-19 vaccination or a negative test taken within 72 hours of each in person meeting. Mask will be required indoors.
*Disclaimer: Volunteers may still participate as a Maid or Butler without being a part of the stage performance.
Dancer Requirements:
- Must attend the audition on February 6 for the respective show:
- Maid Café Dance Audition Dates/Times (*Applying Maids: please bring character shoes or heels to dance audition)
- All Ages Dance Group: Feb. 6th @ 10 am – 11:30 am
- 18+ Dance Group: Feb. 6th @ 11:30 am – 1 pm
- Interviews: Feb. 6th @ 1 pm – 3 pm
- Butler Café Dance & Band Audition Dates/Time
- Dance Group: Feb. 6th @ 10 am – 11:30 am
- Butler Band: Feb. 6th @ 11:30 am – 1 pm
- Interviews: Feb. 6th @ 1 pm – 3 pm
- Maid Café Dance Audition Dates/Times (*Applying Maids: please bring character shoes or heels to dance audition)
- Audition Location: Athletic Garage Dance Center (121 Waverly Dr, Pasadena, CA 91105)
- Must meet all requirements listed in “AX Volunteer Requirements” above
- Must be able to attend 70% of Sunday dance rehearsal dates located in Pasadena
- Must participate in rehearsals with comfortable clothes. Masks will be required indoors.
